Traveling these days is slightly difficult. However, I would like to continue this blog, so I decided to add another passion of mine: interior! Because of the big C, we’re spending a lot of time at home. Luckily Youness and I just moved out of our little apartment to this beautiful spacious house. So I saw the perfect opportunity to start a new instagram page: @leylahlifestyle. On my feed you’ll find pictures of our interior, (previous) travels and beautiful cats Leylah and Samra.
What would you like to read on my blog?
Instagram gave me such a positive vibe during this whole period, so I though: why not extend it to my blog? I’m planning to write regularly, and I’m also curious what you would like to read about. So if you have any ideas, drop them below in de the comments. But first I’ll give you a little impression of our house.
From 35 to 110 square meters
As I mentioned before; we lived together in a beautiful apartment near the center of Arnhem in The Netherlands. There was only one ‘small’ problem. It was 35 square meters. Very cozy, but a bit too tight for all our stuff! So when this rental home became available, we took our chance. Everything is brand new and we’re the first people living here.
It’s a new-build house of 110 square meters and has 2 floors. You can imagine that at the beginning we were not sure what to do with all that space. But now I wouldn’t want it any other way. Especially because I’m working at home since the start of COVID-19. Which is almost 1 year already!
Downstairs we have the kitchen, dining area and living room. On the 1st floor the bedroom, bathroom and my homeoffice/guest room. The attic is my storage, walk in closet and laundry room all in one.
What inspires me?
If I would describe my interior style, I would say it’s a mix of Scandinavian and bohemien influences. I find inspiration from other interiorlovers on Instagram, Pinterest, interior magazines and blogs, but also Moroccan riads and hotel rooms in other countries. On my ‘About me‘ page I’ll tell you more!
I love to change regularly, as you can see in the pictures. I buy and sell a lot through Marktplaats and love to go to thrift shopping. Every time I try to give it my own twist. My favorite (online) stores are H&M Home, Kwantum, Karwei and Ikea. And don’t forget the Action!
Our cats steal the show. At home, but also on Leylahlifestyle. They’re 2 British Shorthairs. In 2019 we got Leylah and April last year Samra joined us. They’re 2 totally different cats with different characters. Leylah is a bit high maintenance, elegant, clean, so cute, but she doesn’t like to cuddle. Samra is rough, clumsy, a tiny bit overweight (let’s just say chubby) and loves to kiss and cuddle. One of the advantages of working at home is that I always have them around me <3.
Well, that’s a short impression of our interior. Looking forward to hear your thoughts and share inspiration with you.
Make yourself at home!
